2020: The Rise of the Face Mask
The coronavirus pandemic has changed the world as we know it. Social distancing has become commonplace across the globe, and citizens are wearing face masks to help reduce the spread of the virus. Here in America, many states, such as Florida, are now requiring a hygienic face mask to be worn in businesses and public spaces.
Recommended by the World Health Organization, the demand for disposable face masks has been immense. By the end of the year, it is expected that 53 billion units will have been shipped globally, while by 2025, that’s expected to have risen by 430%.
How masks help to prevent the spread
As the world begins to reopen, wearing a disposable face mask will be crucial in getting a sense of normality again. There have been multiple studies conducted to help showcase the benefits of wearing a face mask in helping to combat the spread of the disease.
Various experiments have shown their effectiveness at reducing respiratory droplets from breathing, coughing, and sneezing. However, while these scientific experiments have helped showcase their effects, the most conducive studies have been undertaken in the real-world. One study on people with influenza found that disposable masks are able to significantly reduce the number of infected droplets seeing the spread of the disease drastically reduced.
More recent examples have found that disposable masks have helped to reduce the spread of COVID-19. One particularly compelling study found that two Missouri hair stylists with coronavirus were able to work in close contact with 140 clients, and no one contracted the virus!
There are many different styles of disposable face masks available, from hospital grade N95 respirators to homemade cotton ones. Each disposable face mask is able to provide the user with some level of protection and can help to curb the spread of COVID-19.
How we can help
Here at New Norm Live LLC, we understand the importance of disposable face masks, and we are committed to developing locally produced PPE in South Florida. We have recently announced a brand new production facility in Riviera Beach, Florida, which will be making a range of Personal Protective Equipment.
As a sister brand of Canvas Designers, the largest canvas and marine fabrication company in the United States, our team at New Norm Live is able to produce and distribute high-quality consumer-grade and medical-grade face masks for use across America.
We are committed to providing our customers with the very best masks possible. Thanks to our exclusive relationship with various suppliers and manufacturers within the industrial fabrics industry, our new Riviera Beach facility has been able to quickly ramp up production of 3-ply disposable face masks. We have also been able to leverage our long-standing relationship with Taiwan-based Easy Field Corporation, a significant provider of mask machines for the Taiwanese and Japanese governments.
These state-of-the-art machines are capable of producing up to 120,000 disposable masks a day, and our team has spent time in Taiwan with Easy Field Corporation to learn and understand how these machines work. This ensures we are able to produce the most effective masks possible right here in the United States using locally sourced suppliers.
Initially launched in response to the coronavirus, we have now produced thousands of disposable face masks, donating many to local schools, enforcement agencies, hospitals, and non-profit organizations. Since then, we have expanded our product range even further, and we now provide consumers with a range of face masks, from premium white non-medical options to a host of different colors and designs.
As life begins to resume to some form of normality, disposable face masks are going to be essential. If you are looking for high-quality and affordable masks, check out our full range here!
